Detector Specialist

The Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics is seeking a highly skilled Detector Test Specialist to join its team in the development of satellite instrumentation. As a key member of the detector development team, you will be responsible for implementing and characterizing DEPFET sensors manufactured by the Semiconductor Laboratory of the Max Planck Society.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and execute experiments at complex measurement setups
- Characterize DEPFET detectors through experiment and analysis
- Define and document test requirements and create test procedures
- Support the verification of other instrument components
- Analyze data to determine characteristic detector properties
- Interpret and document results
- Extend data analysis programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Completed scientific university degree in physics or equivalent skills and experience
- Knowledge of semiconductor detectors
- Practical experience in dealing with measurement technology and data analysis
- Good team communication in written and spoken English
- Good knowledge of C++, ideally first contact with the ROOT framework, is an advantage
- A versatile and challenging job in a dynamic and international research environment

The full-time position is initially for three years.
