Technical Systems Architect

GDIT is seeking a qualified Infrastructure Systems Specialist to join our team supporting U.S. Army Europe within the EMITS program.
The Infrastructure Systems Specialist collaborates with a diverse team of Administrators, Engineers, and Architects to design and implement server and application infrastructures, as well as oversee the operational management of server hardware and software in a virtualized data center environment. This role is crucial in maintaining system integrity and security while establishing effective practices and procedures, as well as monitoring system usage through log analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEMS SPECIALIST
- Establish baseline configurations and guide the modification of configuration settings.
- Diagnose and resolve system-related issues efficiently.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior administrators.
- Stay informed on advancements in operating systems and software technologies.
- Advise team leadership on potential future projects and directions.
- Offer expertise in the development or enhancement of software applications to improve technical capabilities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Security Clearance: Must possess a Secret Level Security Clearance with SSBI/T5 clearance.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in Systems Engineering roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in DoD systems hardening (STIG, ACAS); Windows Operating Systems; experience in virtualized server environments; knowledge of server backup methodologies (snapshot, full, differential, incremental, retention policies); familiarity with Microsoft server applications (e.g., Exchange, SharePoint); Powershell scripting; understanding of various Operating Systems; ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers; skilled in creating clear and effective documentation (EIP, Build Guides, TTP, etc.).
- Certifications: Must hold DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification on the first day; ITIL Foundation certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

EXPECTED SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $115,000, subject to adjustment based on experience and location.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Less than 10%.
TELECOMMUTING OPTIONS: Onsite.
WORK LOCATION: DEU Wiesbaden - Wiesbaden Army Airfield (APC180).
