Job Title: Senior Control Engineer

Schneider Electric GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Engineer to join our team in Regensburg, Germany. As a key member of our Power Systems and Services division, you will play a crucial role in the development and validation of innovative control technologies for grid-connected power electronics converters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement control algorithms for grid-connected power electronics converters, including multilevel converters, EV charging stations, and energy storage systems.
  • Conduct simulations and analysis to validate control strategies and optimize converter performance under varying grid conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control systems with power electronics hardware and other system components.
  • Lead the development of innovative control techniques and algorithms to enhance converter efficiency, stability, and reliability.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting control systems for medium voltage converters.
Requirements:
  • PhD degree in Control Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of proven experience in control system design for grid-connected power electronics converters.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or C++ or similar platforms for control algorithm development and validation.
  • Strong understanding of grid codes, grid synchronization, and power quality requirements for grid-connected systems.
  • Experience with grid-connected power electronics converters, including multi-level converters, resonant converters, DC/DC converters (desirable).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
