Role Overview:
The individual in this role will serve as a Desktop Support expert, responsible for managing computer hardware, software (both location-specific and global), and peripherals. The IT Operations Analyst will act as the secondary escalation point for resolving desktop or laptop-related incidents, service requests, and connectivity challenges. This position reports to the IT Manager for the EUR East & North region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct second-line investigation and diagnosis of issues.
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
- Respond promptly to service issues and requests.
- Provide technical support throughout the organization, either in person or via phone.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents effectively.
- Manage IT assets.
- Coordinate with external vendors for hardware repairs.
- Conduct site visits as necessary and travel when required.
- Collaborate closely with Security Operations on IT security matters and virus eradication efforts.
- Possess a solid understanding of IT pricing, processes, and procedures.
- Adhere to established IT standard processes and procedures.
- Actively participate in regular team meetings as organized by the Service Delivery Manager.
- Maintain a professional working environment.
- Comply with SLB's QHSE and IT security policies.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to Information Technology (if a degree is not held, prior formal technical training in relevant areas along with experience in people and business management may be considered).
- A strong desire to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment involving high-value, technically complex products/projects.
- Eligibility to work in Germany.
Technical Skills Required:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft PC applications.
- Extensive experience in PC hardware and software support.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve PC hardware and software issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
- Capability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to perform under pressure and communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.
- Experience in an IT Service Desk environment is advantageous.
- Ability to create technical support documentation is a plus.
Certifications:
- Preferred certifications include MCP on Windows and Dell certification.
