We invite you to become a part of our team as an Accounting Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our financial reporting and VAT compliance within the bank's accounting responsibilities.
In this position, you will be instrumental in fostering a modern and sustainable approach to IT-supported processes, ensuring that all necessary reports and the annual financial statements of the bank are prepared in a timely and compliant manner.
Additionally, we are dedicating significant resources to a major initiative in the upcoming years: the bank-wide implementation of a new core banking system (SAP S/4 HANA). Your expertise will be vital in advancing this important and complex project.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Engaging in bank-wide projects with a focus on balance sheet and VAT throughout the entire project lifecycle, from requirement definition to implementation.
- Coordinating the annual financial statements for the bank and its subsidiaries, leveraging your experience.
- Ensuring timely and high-quality accounting for the bank and its subsidiaries in collaboration with your colleagues.
- Reviewing complex booking systems, particularly for fund administrations, and managing New Product Processes (NPP) with your expertise.
- Assessing the potential impacts of new or amended legal requirements and implementing necessary changes.
- Serving as a liaison for external service providers and advisors, as well as internal departments, to manage collaboration efficiently and sustainably.
Qualifications:
- A completed degree in business administration or equivalent banking or commercial training, including specialization in business economics.
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in banking accounting or in an auditing/tax consulting firm with relevant auditing experience.
- Strong knowledge of HGB, RechKredV, and UStG.
- Proficiency in relevant IT systems, particularly MS Office and SAP R/3.
- Experience in project management and familiarity with developing and working with specialized or IT-related concepts, ideally in accounting and VAT law.
- A structured approach to work and creativity in developing effective solutions.
- Ability to manage large datasets securely and to analyze and communicate complex issues clearly.
- Fluency in German and a good command of English.
