We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to become part of our vibrant finance team. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts payable operations. This is an exciting opportunity as we prepare to implement a new ERP system in the near future.
This position is crucial in supporting the Invoice Management team within the Finance Department, executing a variety of responsibilities that fall under their purview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scrutinize and confirm incoming invoices for precision, completeness, and adherence to our policies and contractual agreements;
- Work collaboratively with various departments to gather necessary documentation and resolve any discrepancies;
- Process invoices promptly to ensure timely payments to suppliers;
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements as needed;
- Coordinate with Treasury to enhance cash flow management and with General Accounting to ensure accurate accrual processes;
- Provide assistance during audits and respond to audit-related inquiries.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports to the Head of the Finance Department.
Required Skills and Experience:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of five years of experience in an accounts payable role or a similar financial position;
- Extensive experience managing complex contracts and the ability to comprehend detailed contractual terms to ensure compliance;
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving;
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify potential issues swiftly;
- Capability to work independently, adapt to changes, and prioritize tasks effectively;
- Proficient knowledge of large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly MS Excel);
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively in international and multicultural settings.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in an intergovernmental organization;
- Ability to quickly understand and adapt to the specific context of the organization;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
Educational Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required, along with a demonstrated interest in Law or a related field.
In lieu of a degree, relevant technical qualifications may be accepted, provided there is a minimum of eight years of directly relevant experience.
Language Proficiency:
Proficiency in English is essential, with a good command of German being desirable, and a working knowledge of Spanish considered an advantage.
