At Alstom, we are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Support Specialist to join our team in Berlin, Germany for a 24-month VIE assignment. As a key member of our project and tender teams, you will support engineering activities such as documentation, system design, validation, and certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Alstom documentation activities, including technical document translation, template preparation, and documentation database management.
  • Analyze specifications, present customer needs to the competence center in Belgium, and define required evolutions of Alstom products.
  • Formalize results in technical specifications, analyze and monitor failures during operation, and define test plans.
  • Review assessments, analyze homologation requirements, and organize test sessions.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field with a good industrial comprehension.
  • First experience in an international industrial environment, preferably in the railway sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, diplomacy, and tenacity, with the ability to work in a changing project environment.
  • Autonomy, team spirit, management, and organizational skills, with a good business sense.
  • Good language level of English and German, with French as an asset.
  • Excellent MS Office skills and the ability to work in an international environment with different cultures.

About the VIE Programme:

  • Assignments are open to citizens of European Union countries between 18 and 28 years old, who have fulfilled their military service obligations.
  • A VIE assignment will be in a country other than that of the applicant.
  • Set up by public sector statute in France, managed by the BusinessFrance organisation.
  • Assignment lasts from six to 24 months, renewable once within a cumulative limit of 24 months.
  • Compensation (non-taxable) linked to the cost of living index and set by BusinessFrance according to the destination country.
  • International social protection is extended to eligible parties.
