Solvency II Functional Specialist

As the Functional Specialist for the Solvency II application framework, you will oversee the RiskIntegrity application utilized for SCR calculations and QRT reporting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Defining necessary change and maintenance requests to adapt data processes and/or RiskIntegrity in response to modifications in source systems or standards, ensuring comprehensive support to translate these requirements into IT solutions.
- Coordinating the deployment of new RiskIntegrity patches and releases, including the development of testing strategies.
- Leading the response to system errors and operational interruptions.
- Overseeing and supporting the complete testing approach, including the creation of test cases and scenarios.
- Assisting actuaries and finance specialists when results appear inconsistent.
- Advancing the development of an automated SII Closing Calendar and Process Control aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the SII closing process.
- Monitoring data issues and fulfilling ad hoc analysis requests.
- Serving as the liaison to IT, including external service providers, as well as Finance regarding the SII system landscape, which includes QlikView/Power BI Reporting.
- Engaging in discussions and supporting decisions on technical concepts with IT representatives.
For IFRS and LDTI Reporting:
- Assuming backup responsibilities.
- Aiding in the identification of synergies among Gen Re's various regulatory reporting processes to simplify and streamline operations.
Your Profile
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or finance is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will be self-driven and eager to quickly master our financial applications and processes, becoming a subject matter expert in this domain, with technical knowledge in ETL and SQL.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for Solvency II and ideally IFRS/LDTI.
- Some experience with the technical platforms utilized by Gen Re as mentioned above.
- Knowledge of finance subledger systems is preferred.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and using reporting applications such as Power BI.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to enhance team culture and contribute to collective success.
