About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our team at Esri, a global leader in GIS and spatial analytics. As a key member of our R&D center in Stuttgart, you will play a crucial role in developing industry-leading software for 3D reconstruction from images and lidar, scene understanding, and visualization solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a talented team to create innovative software solutions that push the boundaries of 3D reconstruction and visualization.
  • Develop high-performance and maintainable software that drives advancements in social and environmental development through GIS.
  • Process images, point clouds, and textured meshes to create accurate and detailed 3D models.
  • Stay at the forefront of computer vision, photogrammetry, machine learning, and computer graphics to shape the future of our product.
  • Work closely with our growing community of reality capture users to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their expectations.

Requirements

  • Strong C++ skills and experience in image processing, computer vision, computer graphics, photogrammetry, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development, with a passion for research, design, authoring, testing, debugging, and profiling source code.
  • Fluent English speaker (German is a plus) with excellent communication and self-leadership skills.
  • Interest in the geospatial industry and a strong desire to continuously grow and learn.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, geomatics engineering, or a related field (master's preferred).
  • Existing work authorization for Germany.
