Lead Consultant in Customs and Trade

Work alongside your team in the Indirect Tax Services sector, providing expert advice to our clients on all matters related to national and international sales tax law, as well as customs, foreign trade, export control, and excise tax law.
Your Responsibilities
If you wish to leverage your expertise in customs, foreign trade, and export control law to strategically support the Indirect Tax Services area, here’s how you can contribute:
- Advise and support national and international clients on all aspects of customs, foreign trade, and export control law.
- Engage in comprehensive consulting across various projects, including the implementation of compliance management systems in customs, foreign trade, and export control.
- Conduct audit simulations.
- Assist in governmental foreign trade audits.
- Support our clients in legal remedy and litigation processes, including criminal and administrative proceedings (sometimes in collaboration with KPMG Law).
Your Profile
- To become a Lead Consultant (m/f/d) in Customs & Trade, you should possess a successfully completed degree as a Diplom-Finanzwirt/-Finanzwirtin from the Federal Customs Administration or in economics or law with a focus on European Economic Law, International Law and Business, or Tax Law.
- You should have initial professional experience (at least 1 year) in relevant areas within customs administration, industry, or consulting firms.
- Basic knowledge of customs, foreign trade, and export control law is also required.
- You should be proficient in using standard MS Office applications.
- Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken, are essential.
- Your strong team orientation and willingness to travel will complete your qualifications.
