What is the opportunity?

We are seeking an enthusiastic Intern / Working Student / Master Thesis Student to become part of our dynamic team, comprised of individuals from over 50 different nationalities, dedicated to developing innovative services for the digital landscape of the future.

You will be engaged in meaningful projects and applications, collaborating closely with your academic institution. Your focus will be on geospatial research initiatives within our core team located in Frankfurt, working alongside a globally distributed team of specialists.

Your contributions will play a crucial role in advancing HERE's next-generation automated core map data processing and visualization systems, specifically in the realm of geospatial data and services.

Are you eager to explore web-based technologies for the interaction and visualization of spatial information?

In our team, you will be responsible for enhancing an interactive web application utilizing open-source software tools, such as Geoserver and OpenLayers, to showcase analytical results and insights through web-based platforms.

Who are you?

You are a student pursuing an internship within a multicultural engineering team focused on mapping solutions. Your academic background includes geography, geoinformatics, computer science, computational geometry, or a related field. You possess practical experience with at least one of the following programming languages/tools: Python, Scala, Java, and have familiarity with database management. You have prior exposure to web technologies, including Geoserver and OpenLayers. You are knowledgeable in QGIS or ArcGIS and understand the significance of geographic data. You are driven to conduct research within a technology-driven organization alongside a diverse and interdisciplinary team of research engineers.

We are open to hiring candidates in various locations.

For candidates in Germany, this position offers a 20-hour work week for 6 months for a working student or a full-time internship (if it is a mandatory requirement) or Master Thesis for a duration of 3-6 months.

*Applicants must maintain student status and be enrolled in a university in Germany.

For candidates in Krakow, the position can be for 3 months at 40 hours/week or for 6 months at 20 hours/week.
