Job Description
About the Operations Engineering Division (OED): OED serves as the core team that supports all Business Unit Design and Development groups, along with other departments such as Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Foundry Operations, and Testing. OED offers a comprehensive platform for overseeing all process technology and PDK development for both Internal and External Foundry operations. This highly skilled team, primarily composed of MS/PhD professionals, enhances capabilities in Test Technology, Foundry Operations, and Yield management. Their exceptional contributions drive aggressive New Product Introduction (NPI) strategies and ongoing improvements in cost and gross margin.
Key Responsibilities:
The Foundry Technical Manager will establish and promote benchmark performance across Probe/Final Test yield, Quality, Cost optimization, Change control, and New Product Introductions (NPI).
- Collaborate with the foundry yield team and cross-functional teams to benchmark and achieve industry-leading Probe/Final Test yields.
- Address Quality issues within the fabrication environment and proactively communicate Quality concerns for controlled downstream monitoring.
- Oversee the foundry QTR (Quarterly Technical Review) and provide insights for the QBR (Quarterly Business Review).
- Manage Quality excursions and Customer RMAs by partnering with Foundry Quality and cross-functional teams to identify root causes, manage material disposition, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure successful NPI execution by collaborating with Foundry Technology to confirm appropriate DRC checks and understanding process waivers for NPIs. Work with Design and Foundry Technology to provide feedback on design/process marginalities (DFM) and lead Fab transfer projects to meet quality, yield, and process benchmarks.
- Oversee change control management by working with Foundry Quality to evaluate, qualify, and implement process changes, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess and track foundry processes and waivers.
- Act as an expert in Foundry processes, demonstrating depth and breadth across process modules. Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing Quality, Cost, and Cycle time. Possess hands-on experience in achieving benchmark process performance for newly introduced technologies/products.
- Exhibit a customer-centric approach by collaborating with Supply Chain, Foundry Quality, and cross-functional teams to ensure that Quality events do not disrupt customer needs. Adapt effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining a cost-efficient mindset to minimize foundry scrap. Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Master's degree in Electrical, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with over 10 years of experience in Semiconductors (Fab Integration Engineering, Technology Development).
- Proficient in English with outstanding communication skills; proficiency in German is advantageous.
