PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The role is integral to advancing FMCNA's mission, vision, core values, and commitment to exceptional customer service. The master social worker (MSW) is tasked with aiding patients in reaching their psychosocial objectives while ensuring the provision of superior behavioral health care. This position involves guiding and supporting facility master social workers in a designated region, acting as a resource and expert to enhance collaboration among MSWs and the quality team, ultimately improving patient clinical and quality health outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as a primary resource for psychosocial issues, working alongside other MSWs and the Area Quality Team to pinpoint opportunities for clinical quality enhancements that align with CMS Conditions for Coverage and FMS quality standards. Oversees the implementation of Quality and Social Work initiatives, ensuring effective interventions and standardized educational materials are utilized by facility MSWs in the designated area. Provides strategic direction and social work expertise, offering feedback based on professional standards and FMCNA guidelines to help facility MSWs achieve targeted outcomes in quality, patient satisfaction, teamwork, unit culture, and employee morale. Facilitates leadership development and coaching for direct reports, collaborating with Human Resources on employee-related matters to foster an engaged and productive workforce. Ensures adequate staffing of Social Work Services, managing the coverage of master social workers at dialysis facilities during periods of absence, increased patient census, and vacancies. Coordinates the orientation and training of new master social workers, working with Clinical Educators and facility staff to enhance clinical competencies and adherence to policies. Participates in various meetings, including regional and facility gatherings, to promote quality team building and staff development, collaborating with management to foster effective interdisciplinary relationships. Conducts audits of Social Work documentation to ensure compliance with CMS Conditions for Coverage and FMS policies. Monitors the licensure and continuing education of all master social workers in the assigned area, ensuring compliance with state regulations and maintaining a high standard of practice.
