Position Overview
The Business Development Teams at TE Connectivity are tasked with identifying, cultivating, and executing both short-term and long-term strategies for business development concerning the creation of innovative products, technologies, and services. They assess market opportunities and evaluate the viability of product and business development initiatives. Our teams conduct economic analyses on potential new or enhanced product opportunities, formulate business models, and analyze market trends to validate long-term prospects.
The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in establishing a global framework that ensures a robust innovation pipeline for future Data Connectivity products. This will be accomplished through effective collaboration with leaders in technology markets. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Product Management for Data Connectivity, overseeing Business Development and Product Cost Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess emerging architectures and applications to provide strategic insights to Product Management for the future Data Connectivity portfolio. Convert anticipated market demands and trends into specifications for next-generation Data Connectivity products while assisting product managers with technical inquiries during customer engagements. Deliver business intelligence (e.g., market forecasts and application scenarios) for specific innovative concepts. Identify and drive initiatives relevant to business for new Automotive Data Connectivity applications. Manage project activities for new prospects, including the handling of prototypes and samples, aiming to integrate products and technologies into the Data Connectivity business pipeline. Facilitate dialogue between TE and emerging technology providers (including semiconductor firms, startups, and academic institutions) regarding development efforts and trends for current and future Data Connectivity solutions.Required Qualifications:
A degree in engineering (bachelor's or master's) in electrical/mechanical engineering, information technology, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role, business development, or product management. Familiarity with various contact systems and preferences of individual OEM/HM is preferred. Strong technical and commercial acumen. A proactive, dynamic team player capable of independently managing internal, external, and cross-departmental initiatives within the organization. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Fluent in both oral and written English and German. Willingness to travel across EMEA and globally is essential.Core Competencies
