In Hamburg, our focus lies on slewing bearings and the integration of localized energy systems. We are seeking proactive support in these areas, providing you with insights into our latest research and development initiatives. For instance, you could apply your knowledge at our rotor blade bearings testing facility. If large roller bearing simulations or modeling intrigues you, we have opportunities in those areas as well. Interested in hydrogen? Our team also engages in modeling and managing decentralized energy systems, where you can contribute to research on cross-sector applications in hydrogen technology. We encourage your active participation and value your innovative ideas. As an internationally oriented team, we appreciate open communication in both German and English, and we prioritize respectful collaboration.

Depending on the role, various fields of study may be relevant. If you are currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences, you are likely a great fit for our research areas. Have you explored wind energy or sector coupling during your studies? Perhaps you have gained practical experience through internships or part-time roles? If you are keen to expand your knowledge and share your insights, we would be delighted to meet you.

We provide multiple avenues for students to engage with us, whether through internships that offer comprehensive insights into our work or student assistant roles that can be easily balanced with your studies. If you are seeking a compelling topic for your thesis and wish to explore it in depth, we will collaborate with you to find the right direction. We understand that academic commitments can be demanding, and we offer flexibility in scheduling your work hours in agreement with your colleagues. Depending on the position, remote work may also be an option for student assistants.

Our positions are limited, but individual adjustments can be made. For student assistant roles (which can be combined with thesis writing), the working hours are up to 80 hours per month. Internships typically consist of 39 hours per week. Remuneration for student assistantships is based on the general works agreement for assistant staff, while internship compensation aligns with federal guidelines.
