Social Support Specialist Ansbach, Germany Position Overview

Eligibility Criteria

This position is open to:

- Current LOCAL National Employees across Germany, including personnel from the U.S. Forces in Germany.
- EXTERNAL Local National Applicants residing in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

The Social Support Specialist is responsible for delivering comprehensive relocation services, guidance, and support to military personnel and their families during permanent change of station (PCS) moves. Key duties include:

  • Implementing and overseeing the Relocation Assistance Coordinating Committee (RACC).
  • Establishing program goals, objectives, and procedures while advocating for management support.
  • Identifying challenges faced by the serviced population and developing policies that address diverse individual and family needs.
  • Conducting interviews and providing counseling to families regarding the relocation process, ensuring all relevant social, financial, and personal information is collected.
  • Creating and managing a system to assess and track program effectiveness.
  • Coordinating pre-departure assistance and comprehensive orientation for incoming military personnel.
  • Providing outreach services to families in need, including those who are geographically or socially isolated.
  • Developing assessment methods to determine individual goals and needs, and analyzing data to connect clients with effective service providers.
  • Collaborating with various organizations to ensure families are informed about available resources that alleviate the stress of relocation.
  • Designing marketing strategies to promote relocation program opportunities.
  • Preparing statistical data and justifying budget proposals related to program operations.
Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

- Experience in clerical work, office management, or similar roles.
- Demonstrated experience in a related field that showcases the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
- Language proficiency in English and German at level C1 is required.
