We are seeking a highly skilled Sanctions Lawyer to join our team at Hannover Re. As a key member of our Group Legal Services - Compliance Sanctions Legal team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our sanctions law and foreign trade strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Examine, structure, and negotiate sanctions law and foreign trade issues, ensuring compliance with international regulations.
- Derive recommendations for action and collaborate with specialist departments and local offices to drive business growth.
- Monitor and analyze the development of international sanctions law provisions, providing expert advice to stakeholders.
- Draft contracts, conditions, and clauses related to sanctions, ensuring seamless integration with our business operations.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on sanctions-related topics, fostering a culture of compliance and awareness.
- Examine specific suspected cases that may arise during reinsurance initiation or implementation, ensuring prompt and effective case management.
- A completed law degree (First State Examination) and a strong understanding of sanctions law and foreign trade regulations.
- Fluent German and English language skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex issues in a simple, clear manner.
- A hybrid work model with flexible working hours and 30 days of annual leave.
- Up to 20 days of work abroad within the EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.
