About the Role
Our client is a prominent trading organization with a robust global network of leading consumer goods manufacturers, specializing in confectionery, beverages, and personal care products. They have successfully developed and positioned their own brands while focusing on non-food retail channels, which have proven to be unexpectedly effective sales venues for consumers. Over the past 12 years, our client has experienced significant international growth, generating approximately 15% of its revenue from the DACH region.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Regional Director is accountable for:
- Comprehensive P&L oversight for the DACH region, based in Hamburg.
- Strategic growth initiatives aimed at achieving planned sales increases, including a goal to double revenue.
- Team development in the DACH region, focusing on recruitment, management, and professional growth of team members.
- Building partnerships with consumer goods manufacturers and non-food retail clients.
- Creating an innovative operational model in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Integrating newly acquired companies into the existing organizational structure.
- Aligning sales strategies with evolving customer and market dynamics.
- Collaborating closely with the business development team to define and implement pricing, product, and distribution strategies for the DACH region.
- Establishing a dedicated DACH team in Germany, focusing on commercial and operational excellence.
The Regional Director will report to the Chief Commercial Officer of the parent organization and will lead a team across sales, procurement, administrative support, and operational functions. Together with the Commercial Director and Buying Director, they will form the local Management Team.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess:
- A commercial background, ideally with a degree or equivalent training.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L.
- Several years of leadership experience within the FMCG sector, particularly in confectionery, beverages, or consumer goods.
- A proven track record in sales within discount, DIY, drugstore, garden, or electronics markets.
- Experience in procurement from manufacturers or retail chains.
- A history of successfully establishing organizations in the DACH region.
- Operational and logistical expertise in the DACH business landscape.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach.
- Strong leadership qualities, resilience, and enthusiasm.
- A balanced skill set that includes strategic thinking and operational execution.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster collaboration.
