Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) Position at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Institute of Psychology at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The successful candidate will support our Department of Biological Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience (BPCN) in conducting cutting-edge research and teaching activities.

About the Position

The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for developing, coordinating, managing, and publishing research projects within the field of cognitive neurosciences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychology or cognitive neurosciences, excellent programming skills (Python, Matlab), and experience in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of experiments using various methods (TMS, EEG, fMRI, eye-tracking, and behavioral experiments).

Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate research projects within the field of cognitive neurosciences
  • Publication of research results in international journals
  • Development of own qualification project (habilitation or equivalent)
  • Contributions to international conferences
  • Largely independent planning and implementation of courses
  • Supervision of BSc. and MSc. Theses
  • Support of the professorship in administrative tasks
Requirements
  • University degree with focus on psychology or cognitive neurosciences
  • Excellent Ph.D. degree in the field of psychology or cognitive neurosciences
  • Experience in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of experiments using various methods
  • Programming skills (Python, Matlab)
  • Knowledge in machine learning methods is an advantage
  • Very good command of written and spoken English (knowledge of German is an advantage but not a prerequisite)
  • Good academic record, including publications
  • Experience in teaching undergraduate students is an advantage
