As the Energy / Utilities Industry Lead, you will collaborate with a diverse team of analysts across various locations. The focus of your role will be on ESG Ratings, which includes analyzing companies, reviewing the work of peers, producing sector research, and enhancing or developing new research models. You will be responsible for regularly publishing high-quality research content, such as industry trends, and providing insights on companies and sectors to investors. This role also involves frequent client meetings to discuss research themes and present our ESG ratings model in detail. Our team consists of analysts with diverse backgrounds, and we value collaboration and a culture of learning and sharing to continuously enhance our expertise.
- Ensure the integrity of our ESG Ratings for the Energy / Utilities sector (Oil & Gas, Energy Equipment & Services, Utilities).
- Consistently publish high-quality research content and analyze emerging ESG challenges.
- Deliver relevant, actionable insights on companies to investors, establishing yourself as a trusted expert on key ESG topics.
- Represent MSCI as a credible thought leader with a strong perspective at conferences, external events, and strategic client meetings.
- Collaborate with various teams (industry analysts, equity research, multi-asset class research, climate change risk research, index, analytics) to create innovative analytical models.
- Continuously enhance our methodologies for assessing ESG risks and developing solutions for investors globally.
- Over 5 years of experience in ESG research or financial analysis at sell-side, buy-side, ratings agencies, NGOs, or academic institutions focusing on the Energy / Utilities sector.
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles and their application within the Energy / Utilities sector.
- Familiarity with emerging initiatives relevant to the Energy / Utilities sector. A critical thinker with attention to detail and proficiency in financial modeling and quantitative analysis is preferred.
- Exceptional storytelling abilities with strong writing, communication, and public presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment within a diverse global team.
