About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Procurement Leader to join our team at Munich Re.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to ensure strategic procurement processes, demand management, formal tenders, evaluation of offers, contract negotiations, and proposal for contract award and implementation.
  • Collaborate with local category managers to ensure a cohesive global approach and improve and develop the sub-category strategy at a global level with stakeholders.
  • Support the Global Category Manager in the development of sourcing, supplier, and risk strategies as well as the process value chain.
  • Leverage category and market expertise for sourcing categories and engage and build strategic relationships with key internal stakeholders and main suppliers.
  • Drive digitization of processes and user satisfaction with tools (Coupa) and ensure global interaction with global HR and procurement network within Munich Re Group.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, supply chain management, or similar professional education.
  • Target-oriented, highly motivated, and committed with extensive and relevant procurement experience or proven track record in related roles.
  • Knowledge of consulting and professional services markets and systems, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and solution-oriented skills, and high level of service and customer focus.
  • International negotiation experience, curiosity to explore new topics, and knowledge into results, and strong written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
