Job Description

ING Luxembourg is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Officer to join its Conduct Compliance & Ethics (CC&E) team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the team in identifying, assessing, advising, overseeing, and reporting on risks arising in the areas of Unfair Customer Treatment, Conflicts of Interest, Market Conduct, Competition law, Regulatory Registration, Compliance Governance, and Data Protection.

The CC&E team is responsible for ensuring that ING Luxembourg complies with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. The team works closely with key stakeholders, including senior management, to identify and mitigate compliance risks. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the oversight of local implementation of regulatory and/or policy-driven requirements, including horizon scanning, gap analysis, risk assessments, risk dashboards, issues monitoring, and periodic reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investors/customers protection, with experience in MiFID, SFDR, IDD, private banking products, and cross-border compliance within the banking sector. A university degree in Law, Economics, or Finance is required, and excellent English language skills are essential. Knowledge of French is an asset. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and support the implementation of group policies, regulatory projects, and risk assessments.
  • Provide advisory activities, horizon scanning, issues monitoring, training & awareness, and internal/external reporting on CC&E related risks.
  • Support the first line of defense in executing activities aimed at mitigating compliance risks.
  • Take final decisions and propose solutions to be implemented.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders and oversee the activity of the bank's subsidiaries.
  • Identify, execute, monitor, and report on local risk-culture initiatives.

Work Environment:

  • The CC&E team oversees different business segments, consists of 6 members, and is part of the Compliance Department in the second line of defense.
  • The team works with key/senior internal stakeholders and offers a global overview of how CC&E requirements and controls are embedded within the organization.
  • The team has ongoing interactions with its correspondent team located in Belgium and oversees the bank's subsidiaries in Luxembourg.
