Galileo L2 Operations Engineer

As a key member of the Galileo Service Operator (GSOp) L2/L3 Galileo Mission Segment (GMS) Maintenance team at HE Space, your role will encompass a variety of critical responsibilities:
- Assisting in Assembly, Integration, and Verification (AIV) activities for the Galileo Ground Segment;
- Crafting and maintaining comprehensive test documentation;
- Aiding in the preparation and execution of Non-Regression and System Validation Test Campaigns;
- Collaborating with OPS/L1 and L3 teams for effective problem resolution, system recovery, vulnerability management, and security incident handling;
- Contributing to Service Asset and Configuration Management efforts, ensuring accurate configuration maintenance through designated tools;
- Analyzing complex systems to devise workarounds or solutions for restoring standard operations;
- Supporting the development of integrated maintenance and troubleshooting environments for Galileo systems;
- Providing insights for the release strategy concerning minor and major updates to the Galileo infrastructure;
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and relevant experience:
- A degree in engineering or a related technical discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience;
- Proven experience in ground system AIV campaigns;
- Background in ground system operations;
- Familiarity with IT systems, including web-based applications and server hardware;
- Essential knowledge of the Galileo Mission Segment;
- A commitment to adhering to procedures while demonstrating creativity in overcoming challenges;
- Capability to coordinate complex tasks across team boundaries;
- A keen interest in continuous learning and new developments;
- Willingness to travel for training and workshops;
- Active personal security clearance (PSC);
- Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of an additional European language is advantageous.
