As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals undergoing hemodialysis treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care
- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and treatment setup and operation.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor patients' response to treatment and report any concerns or issues to the nurse supervisor.
- Treatment Preparation and Setup
- Prepare and organize treatment areas, including setting up dialysis machines and equipment.
- Conduct pretreatment dialysis machine alarm testing and initiate Solution Delivery System (SDS) system.
- Documentation and Record Keeping
- Accurately document patient treatment data, including vital signs, medication administration, and treatment outcomes.
- Complete and maintain accurate and timely records of patient care and treatment.
- Education and Training
- Participate in ongoing education and training programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the education department to develop and implement educational programs for patients and staff.
- Quality Assurance and Infection Control
- Participate in quality assurance and infection control activities, including audits and training programs.
- Collaborate with the infection control team to develop and implement infection control policies and procedures.
- Education and Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN)
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Experience and Skills
- At least five years patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

The position provides direct patient care that regularly involves heavy lifting and moving of patients, and assisting with ambulation. Equipment aids and/or coworkers may provide assistance. This position requires frequent, prolonged periods of standing and the employee must be able to bend over.
