Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional postdoctoral researcher to join our Environmental Robotics team at the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) under the supervision of Prof. Sami Haddadin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop algorithms for multi-domain robotic systems that integrate aerial, ground, and aquatic robots for efficient monitoring missions.
  • Develop a multi-domain framework for autonomous and semi-autonomous navigation.
  • Design and implement a Remote Satellite Lab and its digital twin simulation.
  • Conceive and execute experimental setups for real-time field tests of autonomous robots.
  • Participate in outdoor missions at Bavarian lakes and international offshore locations.
  • Support teaching activities at the Master's and/or Bachelor's level courses.
  • Supervise Master and Bachelor students.
Requirements
  • M.Sc. or PhD in robotics, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge in mobile manipulation and control of autonomous vehicles.
  • Hands-on experience with developing autonomous and mobile robotic systems.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ or Python, and proficiency in ROS.
  • Excellent command of the English language and good command of German.
  • Strong analytical skills, pro-active interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • High motivation and willingness to work in an international and interdisciplinary team.
