Job Description
Your Role
- Conduct stress analyses of structural parts using classical methods, Finite Element techniques, and hand calculations.
- Develop and review full stress analysis reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the aircraft structure is certifiable and meets state-of-the-art stress analysis methods.
- Perform trade-off studies to validate design solutions and optimize structural performance.
- Review and approve drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in stress analysis techniques and best practices.
- Support testing activities throughout the test pyramid, including flight and ground tests, and evaluate non-conformity reports (NCRs).
- Evaluate and challenge design concepts to deliver optimal structures that ensure safety, manufacturability, maintainability, and inspectability.
Requirements
Check Your Qualifications
- University degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical/Vehicle Engineering.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a Stress Engineer role in a professional aerospace environment.
- Solid experience with stress analyses of composite materials.
- Knowledge of metal and composite manufacturing processes, testing, and production deviations.
- Basic knowledge of aerospace requirements and standards, such as CS-23, CS-27, and SC-VTOL.
- Proficiency in typical structural analysis tools, such as Patran/Nastran and Altair pack, and PLM systems, such as TeamCenter.
- Ability to develop basic code using VBA, Python, etc.
- Strong English language skills (German is not required).
