We are seeking a
Advanced Process Control Engineer / Technologist (m/f/d)
at our facility in Wesseling near Cologne. This role is essential in providing support for our monomer and utilities operations, focusing on various process control, advanced process control (APC), and data analysis tasks. Additionally, this position is part of our internal development initiative aimed at nurturing young engineers for future roles within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot daily operational challenges related to process controls and APC.
- Monitor and enhance energy efficiency across operational units, particularly through the maintenance of energy monitoring systems.
- Assist in the execution of concept and feasibility studies, either in-house or in collaboration with external contractors for DCS and APC systems.
- Support project teams during both Basic and Detailed Engineering phases alongside external contractors for DCS and APC systems.
- Contribute to Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for operational units, with a keen focus on SIL/IPL implementation.
- Optimize operational units to improve capacity and energy efficiency.
- Enhance the reliability and ensure the sustainable operation of DCS and APC systems.
- Engage in various digitalization projects and initiatives.
- Foster technical networks with local and international participants to share experiences across the company.
- Conduct simulations and modeling of processes using diverse simulation tools.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Process Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with process simulation tools such as Aspen or Hysys is advantageous.
- Experience with data analysis tools, particularly statistical tools, is beneficial.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
- Proficiency in German and English.
