Operations Research Analyst

Join our team as a Fleet Optimization Specialist (m/f/d) and contribute to our mission of enhancing operational efficiency.
We are seeking a talented individual with a strong background in Operations Research to create robust algorithms in Rust that will bolster our fleet optimization efforts. The optimization of our fleet is crucial to our operations, significantly impacting both financial performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement a software solution that maximizes fleet efficiency, focusing on passenger-to-vehicle assignments and operational considerations such as driver breaks, while adhering to constraints like vehicle capacity and customer time requirements. Develop and contribute high-quality, production-ready code to our proprietary algorithm using the Rust programming language. Leverage your expertise in Operations Research to engage in research initiatives within the team and propose innovative enhancements to the algorithm. Share your academic insights with the team and support existing outreach activities within the Operations Research community.Qualifications for Success
A collaborative mindset, actively working to prevent knowledge silos. In-depth expertise in Operations Research, particularly in meta-heuristics and vehicle routing challenges, evidenced by contributions to the field. Proven ability to develop algorithms from scratch, with experience extending beyond the use of existing solvers. Familiarity with Rust or a strong interest in learning Rust, complemented by experience in other systems programming languages. A blend of scientific acumen and practical problem-solving experience, not limited to theoretical research. An openness to feedback and a collaborative approach to software development, including practices like pair programming. Comfort in an agile environment focused on delivering impactful improvements rapidly.Our Team Dynamics
