Newstalk is also celebrated as one of the most esteemed media brands in Ireland, known for its engaging content and campaigns that have significantly contributed to our reputation and audience growth.
The Role
We are seeking a Research Analyst to join our flagship news and current affairs program, Newstalk Breakfast. We are in search of a creative and driven individual brimming with innovative ideas to help propel our audience engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine original concepts for the program while conducting research as directed by the Producer.
- Respond promptly to breaking news to ensure accurate and timely coverage.
- Edit pertinent audio segments for the program.
- Uncover news stories and explore new perspectives and contributors for ongoing stories.
- Secure exclusive on-air content for the program.
- Support the Producer in all on-air activities, including research and editing tasks.
- Identify opportunities for on-location reports by team members.
- Draft scripts and compile briefing materials for the presenter.
- Enhance the program's visibility across digital platforms.
- Source fresh voices for the program.
- Infuse energy and enthusiasm into the on-air presentation.
- Undertake additional tasks as needed to maintain organization.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience in research for a live radio program.
- Familiarity with broadcast journalism principles.
- A strong interest in a broad spectrum of topics that engage audiences, including news, entertainment, sports, lifestyle, and more.
- A proactive self-starter capable of identifying, pitching, and developing current affairs and feature segments for broadcast.
- Proficient in audio recording and editing, as well as digital and social media operations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of experience in a similar capacity.
- Relevant qualifications in a related field.
This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for regular remote work opportunities.
