Job Description

As a Structural Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading project planning and execution processes in steel construction, including the creation of static concepts and 3D models (Tekla). You will oversee the management of static documentation and technical leadership during tendering processes. Additionally, you will provide consultation to other departments, optimize montage concepts, and participate in occasional travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning and execution processes in steel construction.
  • Develop and manage static concepts, preliminary, and execution statics for industrial steel structures in both tendering and execution phases.
  • Create 3D models (Tekla) for basic engineering of WtX or special waste incineration plants.
  • Support and lead internal and external stakeholders in structural planning.
  • Manage load data and static documentation.
  • Lead static verifications for structural systems.
  • Provide consultation to other departments on static and constructive matters.
  • Lead technical aspects during tendering and supplier selection.
  • Work according to the steel construction quality concept.
  • Optimize montage concepts in close collaboration with the montage department.
  • Participate in occasional travel (approximately 2% of working time) to suppliers or construction sites worldwide.
Requirements
  • You hold a degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on steel construction and have more than 2 years of experience in structural planning of steel and/or supporting structures.
  • You possess in-depth knowledge of Eurocodes and statics.
  • You are proficient in Navisworks and have knowledge of Tekla, R-FEM, and BIM, which is an advantage.
  • You have excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders and are accustomed to speaking with suppliers, stakeholders, and consultants.
  • You can handle changing requirements and assumptions well and possess a high level of team spirit.
  • You are an open and self-assured personality who enjoys sharing knowledge and taking responsibility.
  • You speak very good English.
  • German and French are an advantage.
