Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D team at Vaeridion GmbH. As a key member of our Technology division, you will be responsible for the overall configuration and mechanical design integration of our novel battery system for our CS-23 all-electric aircraft.
Your Day-to-Day- Lead the mechanical design and configuration of battery modules and battery systems.
- Develop detailed design specifications, drawings, and documentation to guide the manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Conduct Finite Element Analyses (FEA) to model and optimize the performance of composites, metals, and adhesives under various conditions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, materials, thermal, and electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of battery components.
- Troubleshoot design issues and implement corrective actions to enhance system safety and performance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in battery system design.
- A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the aerospace, automotive, or battery industries.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) for designing complex mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) (e.g., Abaqus, Ansys, COMSOL, or similar) for modeling composites, metals, and adhesives.
- Experience in developing and validating designs for high-performance applications.
- Aerospace certification processes and documentation knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of innovative mechanical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluent English language skills are essential, and fluent German or other languages would be beneficial.

Vaeridion GmbH is a fast-growing deep tech start-up based in Munich, Germany. We aim to provide an aircraft for Zero emission regional flights by 2030. Our goal is to develop, build, and certify a full electric microliner carrying up to 9 passengers for Short-Haul and Regional Air Mobility. A full electric microliner is cleaner and cheaper to operate than other aeroplanes in its class, providing a better travel experience door to door up to 500 km. We offer new optimized design based on proven principles, around proven and available technology in electric motors and batteries, that brings lowest risk and shortest route to certification.
