Advanced Lead Engineer - Hybrid-Electric Power System Modeling

As a pivotal member of GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation, the Advanced Lead Engineer for Hybrid-Electric Power System Modeling will engage in innovative projects focused on the development of next-generation propulsion systems. This role emphasizes collaboration and technical expertise in hybrid-electric aerospace technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive electric design evaluations for hybrid-electric propulsion systems.
  • Oversee and contribute to the modeling and simulation of electric propulsion systems.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to advance hybrid-electric aerospace propulsion initiatives.
  • Facilitate the development of electric systems tailored for hybrid applications.
Essential Qualifications
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Significant experience with electric propulsion systems and their components.
  • Proficient in electric system design, especially within hybrid-electric contexts.
  • Strong foundation in transient and dynamic electric system theory and analysis.
  • Expertise in electric system analysis software, including Matlab or PLECS.
  • Understanding of Electromagnetic Interference and Electromagnetic Compatibility in electric propulsion systems.
  • Experience in the prototyping and testing of electric propulsion systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

  • Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a relevant field.
  • Collaborative team player with experience in diverse environments.
  • Committed to technical excellence and innovation.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Hardware in the Loop tools.
  • Knowledge of power converter and electric machine integration.
  • Understanding of electric machine control systems.
  • Acquainted with fundamental control loops.
