Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Linux-based systems and KVM hypervisors in a large-scale cloud infrastructure.
- Optimize system performance, conduct regular monitoring, and implement proactive troubleshooting measures.
- Configure and manage virtual networking, storage solutions, and security measures in a virtualized environment.
- Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
- Join the on-call rotation, sharing responsibilities with the rest of the team to ensure continuous support coverage and demonstrate commitment to the role.
Requirements:
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in virtualized environments.
- Proficient in various Linux distributions (e.g., Gardenlinux, CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL).
- Strong understanding of file systems, kernel tuning, and performance optimization in tuning and optimizing both the host and guest systems for optimal performance.
- Expertise in system monitoring and troubleshooting using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Zsh) and Python, Go for automation tasks.
- Experience with libvirt for managing KVM environments and virsh command-line tool and libvirt XML configuration.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), German is a plus.
