Economic Policy Research Officer

The Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung gGmbH is seeking a Scientific Officer (f/m/x) to assist in the examination of economic policy matters and contribute to the creation of speeches and publications aimed at diverse audiences. This role is essential in supporting the President in navigating complex economic and societal issues.
Key Responsibilities
As a Scientific Officer, your primary duties will include:
- Providing scientific insights and conceptual guidance on pressing economic policy matters and broader societal debates.
- Conducting thorough research and compiling well-founded background information on economic and science policy topics for various communications.
- Preparing presentations and press releases for the President.
- Offering scientific support related to the President's external committee roles, particularly in economic policy advisory capacities.
- Assisting in the organization of international scientific conferences.
Qualifications
- A completed doctorate in economics.
- A strong academic background in economics.
- A keen interest in economic research and science policy.
- Experience in drafting both academic and non-academic publications and creating effective presentations.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex issues.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- High levels of self-organization, motivation, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Prior experience in a research institution relevant to this role is advantageous.
- Familiarity with statistical software, such as Stata, is a plus.
