This role is integral to supporting the President in addressing complex social science issues.
Key Responsibilities
As a Scientific Officer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing scientific insights and conceptual frameworks on pressing economic policy challenges and societal debates.
- Conducting thorough research and compiling comprehensive background information on economic and science policy topics for various formats including interviews and publications.
- Drafting presentations and press statements that effectively communicate research findings.
- Offering scientific guidance in relation to the President's responsibilities on external committees, particularly in economic policy advisory roles.
- Assisting in the organization of international academic conferences.
Qualifications
- A completed doctorate in economics.
- A strong academic background in economics with an excellent university degree.
- A keen interest in economic research and science policy discussions.
- Proven experience in writing both academic and non-academic materials and developing presentations.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex topics and articulate them clearly.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- A high level of self-organization, motivation, and the capacity to work independently while being a collaborative team member.
- Prior experience in a research institution relevant to this role is advantageous.
- Familiarity with statistical software, such as Stata, is a plus.
