Position: Trainee in Corporate Communication and Media Relations

We are seeking an enthusiastic Trainee to support our Corporate Communication and Media Relations team at Gerhard D. Wempe GmbH & Co. KG, a distinguished family-owned enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in formulating communication and branding strategies for the family ownership
  • Support the preparation of sustainability documentation
  • Collaborate on topic selection for press releases, guide content creators, edit and finalize written materials, oversee distribution, and assist with tracking outcomes
  • Independently manage public relations and communication initiatives
  • Interact with diverse stakeholders including journalists and podcasters, and nurture relationships with media partners
  • Coordinate with external consultants specializing in sustainability and crisis management
  • Conduct research and draft corporate announcements
  • Create content for the company’s internal communication platform
  • Help organize and execute press conferences and events
  • Compile daily media monitoring reports and monthly summaries

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Business, Communication, Social Sciences, or related disciplines
  • Fluent in both German and English
  • Previous internship experience is advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication abilities and a keen interest in emerging technologies
  • A preference for subjects such as family enterprises, economics, sustainability, human resources, and crisis management
  • Highly dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working autonomously
