Responsibilities:
- As a manufacturing expert, you will collaborate with your design team to facilitate high-rate, cost-effective production, ensuring that manufacturing considerations are integrated at the supplier level.
- You will spearhead the technical aspects of the industrialization roadmap, adhering to the APQP framework, and fostering clear communication between stakeholders to meet business objectives, cost, and quality benchmarks.
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and oversight to address shop floor challenges, ensuring timely delivery of components.
- Facilitate the development and validation of optimal tooling strategies to meet aggressive timelines while maintaining quality standards.
- Act as the Product Specialist during Manufacturing Review Boards at supplier sites, enabling swift decision-making and implementing necessary improvement actions.
- Develop and implement technology roadmaps for your commodities, striving for best-in-class performance in delivery, cost, and quality.
- Oversee the technical elements of the PPAP framework for new product introductions, establishing best practices for first-time delivery success.
- Guide the development of new technologies through a structured MRL process at suppliers, assessing the readiness of each technology for future product generations.
- Support product qualification in accordance with AS/EN9102 standards.
Your Qualifications:
- A relevant degree in Aerospace or manufacturing engineering.
- At least 7 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering, particularly with metallic components, encompassing processes such as machining, casting, welding, additive manufacturing, surface treatment, and assembly.
- Familiarity with PPAP, APQP, FAI, and MRL processes.
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), along with inspection methods applicable to machined components.
- Proven ability to influence design through Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) initiatives.
- Lean mindset with a focus on simplification, continuous improvement, and health & safety awareness.
- Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills to address problems urgently and collaborate with diverse technical teams.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
