Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Lilium. As a key member of our Supply Chain organization, you will be responsible for the industrialization of new components and assemblies at our external partners. Your expertise in manufacturing process development and process improvement will be crucial in ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of our products.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce Design for Manufacturing / Assembly / Testing with internal or external design teams to enable high-rate, cost-effective production.
- De-risk production of newly developed components and assemblies by understanding production processes, matching them against supplier capabilities, and identifying manufacturing risks and capability gaps.
- Steer tooling availability, equipment readiness, and process qualification at suppliers to enable initial production of new components and assemblies on time.
- Develop, drive, and deliver all technical aspects of the industrialization roadmap with suppliers, enforcing clear collaboration between parties to secure delivery against business case cost and quality targets.
- Lead interface/collaboration between Design Organization and Production Organization, supporting studies, analyses, tests, trade-offs to enable manufacturing of a final product that fulfills design requirements.
- Responsible for right-first-time delivery of each element of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) framework for assigned product group.
- Responsible for delivery of products in scope to their First Article Inspection (FAI) as per AS/EN9102 standard.
- Develop New Technology Projects through gated Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) process to determine maturity of each new technology for inclusion in next generation of product.
- Work with supplier to decide on technical solutions to optimize production and assembly processes towards high-volume production lines.
- Minimum Engineering bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronics, or relevant field. Master's degree and/or MBA advantageous.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering role in Aerospace or Automotive industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing process development and process improvement.
- Experience with electronics/SMT assembly manufacturing processes and standards, as well as cable and harness assembly.
- Experience with Electronics manufacturing test tools (AOI, ICT, EOLT).
- Demonstratable capabilities in influencing design through Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Testing (DFT), and RCCA activities.
- Demonstrated experience in development of new electronic boxes or Mechanical products from initial concept to market entry.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection capabilities and requirements relevant to Electronics.
- Technical understanding of Electrical Drawings/Mechanical Drawings & Requirements to enable position as key technical interface between Design, Production, and Supplier.
- Demonstrable experience of operating alone in supplier facilities, with strong communication skills supporting working practices of local management to technical personnel.
- Experience of implementing PPAP/APQP processes and standards.
- Mindset to take evaluated risks in decision making.
- Willingness to regularly travel across Europe and occasionally worldwide for supplier visits.
- Fluent English. German or Spanish a plus.
