European Industry Sales Manager

About the Role

This position reports to the Sales Manager and is responsible for leading sales and marketing activities related to products, systems, and services within defined industry segments and selected customer accounts for the Business Line Analytical Europe within the Measurement & Analytics Division, with a primary focus on the DACH region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Industry Engagement: Identify and pursue business opportunities and strategies for sales growth, actively participating in planning and execution efforts with local, regional, and global sales management teams.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and support groups, providing market feedback and coordinating with internal teams to develop unique business opportunities.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Define, develop, and execute strategies and business plans for key segments/applications in collaboration with local sales and marketing teams, as well as global product lines, driving topline growth across each target industry segment.
  • Account Management: Ensure major accounts within the segments are identified, prioritized, and actively managed, taking the lead in building and maintaining strong relationships at senior levels with key stakeholders as necessary.
  • Market Intelligence: Utilize operational intelligence, benchmarking, and analysis to identify customer needs, industry trends, best practices, product gaps, and competitor strategies, translating market requirements and opportunities into actionable plans for ABB.
  • Value Proposition Development: Ensure ABB's value proposition for each target segment is clearly defined, developed, and effectively communicated both internally and externally.
  • External Communication: Actively strengthen ABB's visibility by enhancing external communication for market segments in coordination with the Marketing Communications team and by participating in customer events and industry trade fairs.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of sales or leadership experience, ideally within a large global or regional business environment.
  • Several years of working with analytical measurement, with a proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans that drive results in international settings.
  • Strong business acumen, industrial market expertise, and a customer-centric approach, recognized as a key team player who fosters collaboration and supports a diverse and inclusive culture.
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English and German.
