Job Title: Network Technician

We are seeking a skilled Network Technician to join our team at 1&1 Versatel. As a Network Technician, you will be responsible for planning, configuring, and implementing network systems for our clients. You will also be involved in maintenance activities and documentation of network data and transmissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create relocation plans for customer CPE / System Engineering / PE Routers (with a focus on data networks in the internet, VPN, NGN and MSN environments) related to site moves
  • Prepare, configure, and implement system components in the data network
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform maintenance activities during site moves, network optimizations, or redesigns
  • Dismantle old technology
  • Document data and transmission networks in company-specific databases
  • Provide technical support during commissioning
  • Assist in major outages to restore network functions by (partially) building active network nodes

Requirements

  • Completed degree in computer science or telecommunications or a technical vocational qualification
  • Good knowledge of data networks (Routing and Switching) from Cisco, Juniper, and Huawei required
  • Certifications such as Cisco CCNA are advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Office products (e.g. MS Excel)
  • Excellent German (at least Level C1) and English (at least Level B1) language skills
  • Team player, flexibility, ability to work independently, willingness to collaborate across disciplines, and eagerness to learn new technologies
