In your capacity as the Vice President of Infrastructure Operations at Spark Networks, you will be instrumental in defining the infrastructure and reliability strategy for our platforms. You will guide a skilled team of engineers to ensure our systems are scalable, resilient, and efficient. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the ongoing enhancement of our infrastructure and reliability practices, guaranteeing exceptional user experiences and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Vision: Formulate and implement the strategic direction for infrastructure and SRE, ensuring alignment with business objectives and promoting scalability and reliability.Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of infrastructure and SRE specialists, nurturing a culture of excellence and ongoing development.Infrastructure Oversight: Manage our AWS-based infrastructure, applying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies to ensure robustness and scalability.Reliability Practices: Champion SRE best practices, including proactive monitoring, incident management, and performance enhancement.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with various teams, including development, operations, and product management, to foster alignment and teamwork.Process Optimization: Regularly evaluate and refine infrastructure and reliability processes, leveraging automation and innovative solutions.Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess system reliability, performance, and efficiency, providing regular updates to stakeholders.IT Infrastructure Management: Supervise the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's networks, servers, storage, and other IT infrastructure components, ensuring high availability and scalability.

Candidate Profile

Proven Leader: Extensive experience in infrastructure management and SRE, with a solid history of leading high-performing teams.Technical Authority: Profound knowledge of AWS and managing infrastructure through IaC, with experience in handling complex IT infrastructure projects.SRE Expertise: In-depth understanding of SRE principles, including monitoring, incident management, and performance optimization.Innovative Strategist: Capability to devise and execute strategic initiatives that foster continuous improvement and innovation.Collaborative Leader: Strong leadership and collaboration abilities, with a knack for working effectively with cross-functional teams.Metrics-Oriented: Experience in establishing and monitoring KPIs to ensure operational excellence.Effective Communicator: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to stakeholders.Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Formulate and uphold disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

Qualifications

Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Comprehensive knowledge of network architecture, server management, storage solutions, cloud technologies, and SRE principles.Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring technical teams.Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or similar are advantageous.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Fluent in English (both written and verbal).
