Research Opportunity in Personalized Oncology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join our team at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany. The successful candidate will contribute to our mission to investigate cancer development, identify cancer risk factors, and develop new cancer prevention strategies.

About the Position

The Senior Scientist will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing own projects, developing patient-derived model system platforms, supervising junior scientists and technical staff, and managing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong research profile in personalized oncology, experience in experimental oncology, and a proven track record of research excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize and develop own research projects
  • Develop patient-derived model system platforms
  • Supervise junior scientists and technical staff
  • Manage projects and apply for research grants
Requirements

The successful candidate will hold a master's degree and a PhD, MD, or MD-PhD with a proven track record of research excellence. Experience in cancer biology, precision oncology, and patient-derived model systems is essential. Bioinformatic proficiency and gene technology expertise are desirable.
