As a Principal Project Manager at Workday, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our extensive enterprise clientele. Your role extends beyond traditional project management; you will engage with clients, provide guidance, and ensure the successful implementation of Workday's premier cloud enterprise software solutions.
Your responsibilities will include empowering and steering customer implementations by establishing project plans, staffing, governance, and shaping essential project deliverables. You will lead cross-functional teams to effectively execute large-scale Workday deployments. Acting as the primary liaison for both the customer and Workday teams, you will collaborate closely with the Customer Project Manager to creatively and effectively resolve any issues that may impede project success. Your objective is to deliver the anticipated value to our customers punctually and within budget, ensuring an exceptional customer experience from project initiation through to go-live.

About You
This role demands a unique blend of business acumen, customer-centric focus, and leadership skills to guide and support deployments, ensuring success for both customers and teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Languages: Proficiency in German and English
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in program/project management; adept at balancing multiple projects and prioritizing effectively
- 5+ years of expertise in HCM, Payroll, Financials, or Supply Chain domains
- Experience in multinational organizations and ERP implementations
- A successful candidate will possess a blend of functional (business) and technical expertise
Other Qualifications:
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including comfort in engaging with senior executives
- Leadership capabilities to empower and focus the project team on deployment objectives
- A proven track record in Project Management delivery within a Professional Services context
- A strong passion for customer success
- Ability to efficiently investigate customer issues and questions, ensuring follow-through to resolution
- Experience managing third-party vendors in a project setting
- A willingness to take initiative and assist wherever necessary
