Job Description

CS GROUP is seeking a highly skilled S3/S6 Processors Maintenance Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the maintenance and evolution of Copernicus operational processors, their validation, and installation in the EUMETSAT ground segment.
  • Support the operational processing of data from Sentinel-3 instruments from telemetry to Level 2 products, focusing on improving associated products.
  • Evolve Sentinel-3 SRAL/MWR L1 and L2 IPFs, written in C/C++, and Sentinel-3 L1 and L2 SLSTR IPFs, written in C with some libraries in Fortran.
  • Evolve Sentinel-3 OLCI L1 and L2 IPFs, written in C with a few modules in C++, and Sentinel-3 Level 0 IPF, written in C.
  • Maintain and deliver software and documentation for each IPF, including software updates, updated documentation, test data, and technical notes.
  • Use the EUMETSAT Anomaly Processing Tool (APT) for managing, progressing, and tracking ARs/NCRs.
  • Support configuration management and delivery of IPF releases and patches.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace industry or a relevant discipline.
  • Expert skills in C and C++.
  • Demonstrated skills in additional higher programming languages (Fortran, Python).
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of physics of remote sensing of ocean and atmosphere.
  • Experience with developing modular, clearly readable, and adaptable scientific software, including configuration control of developed codes.
  • Experience in visualizing remote sensing data using specific tools or programming languages (Python, IDL...).
  • Experience in scientific analysis, especially on remote sensing of marine and atmosphere from space, including prototyping algorithms or related testing functions.
  • Experience in operational satellite data processing systems.
  • Experience in maintaining processors in the context of operational missions.
  • Experience in software optimization and performance increase (parallel computing techniques on Linux clusters).
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
