We are in search of a Lead On-Site Platform Architect (hands-on) for the SoundCloud Engineering & Infrastructure division. The mission of this team is to spearhead and enhance the design, execution, and optimization of SoundCloud's On-Premise architecture while reengineering our existing workloads with a cloud-native methodology. As a Lead Architect on the team, you will be tasked with pinpointing essential technical challenges to address, proposing or endorsing solutions, and collaborating with the Cloud Engineering team to construct and implement these solutions. Furthermore, you will evaluate and shape ongoing design, architecture, standards, and practices for managing services and systems, as well as assess design and code modifications to foster enhancements. You will also engage actively in code evaluations, bug/issue prioritization with other teams, and support well-informed decisions aligned with business and engineering objectives.
We are ideally seeking candidates with:
On-Premise Expertise in Production Workloads (K8s, Linux, Ansible, Chef) Practical experience in constructing infrastructures/platforms utilized by other teams, coding, and delivering enhancements to boost service availability, scalability, performance, security, resilience, and efficiency. Familiarity with CI/CD Frameworks (GitHub Actions) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Support for SRE operations to troubleshoot critical production challenges and subsequently create/manage backlog items to avert/recover from similar issues. A robust foundation in software engineering using at least one of the following languages: Typescript, Python, Ruby, or Golang. Preferred: AWS Certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect Pro or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Pro)If you are enthusiastic about the chance to significantly influence the daily experiences and satisfaction of millions globally, empowering them to share and connect through sound, we would be eager to hear from you.
