Job Title: Lead Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to join our team at Deutsche Bank Technology in Berlin. As a key member of our global team of tech specialists, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation in financial services.

About the Role

As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of Java Developers and DevOps engineers in the implementation of a hybrid data platform. This will involve designing and architecting a robust and scalable platform that includes GKE, Kafka, and distributed Clickhouse database clusters. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with Bank Standards and driving the implementation of SRE tools to ensure reliability and resiliency of the platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and architect a hybrid data platform that includes GKE, Kafka, and distributed Clickhouse database clusters
  • Lead a team of Java Developers and DevOps engineers in the implementation of the platform
  • Ensure compliance with Bank Standards and drive the implementation of SRE tools
  • Design and develop tooling to support the Enterprise Platform, including automation of backup, smoke-testing, release, and rollback, and permissions management
Requirements
  • Strong experience in designing resilient distributed clusters and SRE tools
  • Strong expertise in Java
  • Knowledge of Cloud technology, preferably GCP, and experience working with Distributed Columnar Databases, such as Clickhouse
  • Strong communication skills and good written and spoken English
