Position Overview:
In the pivotal role of Director of Global Biology Procurement, you will spearhead a cross-functional team, managing critical negotiations with suppliers to achieve significant cost efficiencies. You will also lead your team through organizational changes, skillfully addressing challenges presented by the current economic environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding leadership, consulting, and mentoring capabilities, along with a deep understanding of procurement for biological and chemical materials, preferably with a background in biology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global oversight of the biology procurement category
- Formulating, developing, and implementing category and supply chain strategies to support global procurement and sourcing initiatives
- Negotiating contracts, achieving savings with suppliers, and cultivating strategic partnerships
- Direct management of a team of over 5 full-time employees
- Continuous enhancement of procurement processes and activities to ensure savings and achievement of key performance indicators
Candidate Profile:
- Fluent in German and proficient in English
- Extensive knowledge within procurement categories
- Agile and open-minded with strong leadership and coaching abilities
- Experience in Change Management and organizational transitions
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Ability to navigate complex environments and manage ambiguity
