Technical Assistant for Eye Protection Testing

Position: Laboratory Technician for Eye Safety Equipment

Location: Nuremberg

Employment Type: Temporary, Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct optical and mechanical evaluations on eye safety equipment (such as protective glasses, sunglasses, and welding masks) in accordance with relevant testing standards, ensuring compliance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Analyze and document test outcomes as per standard protocols, maintaining accurate records in our data management systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on testing apparatus to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Create and revise testing and operational guidelines, along with maintaining equipment documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members or work independently based on project requirements.
  • Exercise autonomy in organizing daily tasks while managing project timelines effectively.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Completed technical training in electrical engineering or equivalent qualifications such as physics laboratory technician, physical-technical assistant (PTA), or chemical-technical assistant (CTA).
  • Some experience in a physical laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with operating electrical, mechanical, and optical measurement instruments.
  • Understanding of measurement uncertainty in mechanical, electrical/electronic, and optical testing processes is advantageous.
  • Strong work ethic, proactive attitude, and eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Proficient in German and competent in English (B2 level) both in written and spoken forms.
