About Us
The Hochschulrechenzentrum (HRZ) serves as the IT competence and service center for Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU). Our mission is to empower approximately 26,500 students and 5,700 employees to advance scientific research and societal contributions through robust IT solutions.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated IT Employee (m/f/d) in IT Support to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our IT services run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the university's academic and research missions.
Your Role
As part of the 'Service' team, you will be integral to our IT support structure, providing exceptional customer service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Offering user assistance via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
- Managing user accounts and permissions.
- Overseeing the administration of time tracking and access control systems.
- Collaborating with the university's central printing services.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A completed vocational training in the IT field.
- Proficient knowledge of standard hardware (PCs, laptops, printers, tablets, and smartphones) and their operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, Android).
- Expertise in the following areas:
- Standard software applications (MS Office, email clients, web browsers).
- IT services (email, web, file & print services, LDAP, MS Active Directory).
- Networking concepts (LAN, WLAN, TCP/IP, network services).
- Graphics and layout software, along with knowledge of digital printing.
- Fluency in German and proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical skills and a results-driven approach.
- A high level of service orientation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
- A valid Class B driving license and willingness to work shifts.
