Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist

- Offering direction and support to suppliers to guarantee adherence to GKN's Supplier Standards, QCD (Quality, Cost, and Delivery) performance metrics, AITF 16949 quality frameworks, AQP, and PPAP methodologies.
- Assessing and overseeing KPIs while providing comprehensive reporting on outcomes.
- Engaging with the Supplier Quality community on both Regional and Global scales.
- Driving Continuous Improvement (CI), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives for designated suppliers and projects.
- Overseeing Programme APQP for suppliers based in the region.
- Executing Remote Run & Rate capacity documentation evaluations and confirmations.
- Formulating PPAP with suppliers to ensure seamless approval by "CSQ".
- Sanctioning PPAPs for all GKN locations to prevent redundant activities.
- Participating in Risk Assessments for projects and aiding sourcing operations.
- Implementing management of Critical Characteristics and executing Complaint Management through structured problem-solving techniques.
- Conducting audits in accordance with VDA 6.3 and performing assessments of special processes.
- Validating Value Analysis/Value Engineering at suppliers and guiding them through the TOP Focus / Escalation Process.
- Degree in Engineering, ideally in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, or Quality Management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Expertise in formal problem-solving methodologies.
- Familiarity with essential quality tools such as APQP, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, and SPC.
- Hands-on auditing experience related to VDA 6.3 and special process audit checklists.
- Experience working within cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
- Basic understanding of machining processes.
- Knowledge of special processes including Heat Treatment, Coating, Plating, Welding, Rubber & Plastics, Bearings, and Sheet Metal.
